The undulating texture of the surface of the wood is reminiscent of ripples on a pond. This texture catches the light and adds drama to the piece.
Made of recycled wood with a concrete base. The wood has been resin impregnated. This special resin is absorbed deeply into the wood and bonds with the fibres of the wood itself. This effectively renders the wood waterproof. For additional protection it has then been treated with a UV resistant top coat. This creates a waterproof and UV resistant exterior shell that should last for many many years totally maintenance free for a lifetime of enjoyment.
The wood used in the making of “Resonate” was rescued from being burned or thrown in the trash. The wood shavings created in it’s manufacture as shown in the video have been composted and the resulting soil will be used in our vegetable garden.
